Our Values

At Waste2Value Eco, our strength lies in what we are—not in what we are not.

We are a specialized team of engineers and consultants shaped by years of experience working at the heart of multinational corporations. Our careers have taken us across industries and continents, instilling in us the technical rigor, structured thinking, and quality-driven mindset of European engineering benchmarks—all of which we bring to serve the dynamic and fast-evolving needs of emerging markets.

We are native to newly industrialized countries, with deep ties to the communities of the greater Middle East, North America and East Africa. Having studied, worked, and lived for years across Europe, we bring a dual perspective: global best practices adapted to the local realities of our rapidly developing economies.

We believe that specialized engineering and consulting services should not be reserved for global giants alone. That's why we target both private and public organizations that demand world-class expertise but require a partner who understands their unique scale, challenges, and ambitions.

We operate with a value-driven model. Every decision we make is grounded in maximizing net value—evaluating options carefully before turning them into actions. Our low-overhead structure allows us to focus resources where they matter most: on technical excellence, tangible deliverables, and practical results rather than pointless paperwork.

We proudly dedicate each working hour to moving projects forward—not wasting time in layers of administration, redundant meetings, or gold-plated presentations disconnected from reality. When you work with us, you get direct access to seasoned professionals focused on solutions. Behind us stands a wide-reaching network of trusted experts across the globe, spanning multiple industries and backgrounds—many of whom are long-standing former colleagues we maintain close professional ties with, enabling us to extend our capabilities dynamically when required.

Our operating model is a reflection of our values: precision, pragmatism, partnership, and progress.

It's how we deliver the kind of impact that turns vision into reality—one project, one decision, and one community at a time.

Our Mission

Our mission at Waste2Value is to transform waste into opportunity. We aim to build cleaner, more efficient systems that power green economies.

A big part of what sets us apart is our systems engineering mindset — a discipline that helps us integrate technologies, processes, and people into cohesive, scalable solutions. In fast-evolving markets like the Middle East, where infrastructure is expanding rapidly and expectations are high, this approach is not just useful — it's essential. Systems engineering enables us to design operations that are interconnected, resilient, and future-ready, whether in recycling, waste-to-energy, or water reuse.

We bring a rare blend of technical depth and real-world delivery, shaped by years of experience with organizations like Shell, Exxon Mobil, Porsche, Daimler, the World Bank, and IFC. Our work spans feasibility studies, operational turnarounds, emissions quantification, and complex process improvement — all grounded in a structured, systems-led way of thinking.

We’re part of a generation with the advantage of global exposure and deep sectoral insight — and we're channeling that into helping the Middle East realize its vision for sustainability and industrial transformation. Whether it’s developing circular manufacturing hubs, exporting sustainable products, or training the next generation of green leaders, we’re here to create impact that lasts — and we’d love to be part of your journey too.

Jonathan Dass

Jonathan is the managing partner at W2V Eco and has deep experience in operational diagnostics and process improvement for the manufacturing sector.

Career

Jonathan is an experienced operational excellence and project delivery expert with an aerospace background. He served as a management consultant and team leader at Open Capital Advisors, thereafter successfully set up a recycling plant in East Africa, blending technical, commercial, and sustainability expertise. He also worked with the IFC/WorldBank as a Senior Operational Efficiency Specialist, developing data-driven diagnostic tools for manufacturing firms across the Middle East and Africa.

As an independent consultant, he led over 20 Lean assignments, driving transformations from feasibility through to handover. Earlier in his career, Jonathan worked with Shell across the UK’s oil and gas value chain, gaining hands-on experience solving complex operational challenges.

In a world where resources are precious and every action matters, Operational Excellence offers a powerful path forward. It challenges us to think differently — to see opportunity where others see waste, and to build smarter, more resilient systems.

Expertise

Jonathan is skilled in conducting in-depth operational diagnostics, identifying inefficiencies, and benchmarking performance against industry standards to drive continuous improvement and maintain a competitive advantage. He has a strong ability to analyse complex datasets, extract meaningful insights, and apply data analytics to optimise processes, improve productivity, and enhance strategic decision-making. He is also experienced in implementing structured change management methodologies, fostering stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the seamless adoption of new processes, technologies, and cultural transformations within organisations.

Commitment

I am committed to delivering real, measurable impact through every project we take on. You will receive cutting-edge solutions, built on deep technical expertise and practical, hands-on experience. We enjoy being in the trenches with clients — working side by side, staying engaged, and pushing through challenges until we find the right solution.

Our success comes from under-promising and over-delivering — because for us, true partnership means not just meeting expectations, but exceeding them.

Let's turn waste into value.

Mario Whitburn

Mario is an associate partner at W2V Eco, bringing an Aerospace Engineering background with a passion for Model-based Systems Engineering and Systems Design. His first-hand experience is mainly focused on translating business needs into purposeful solutions throughout the complete system lifecycle — from business/mission analysis to qualification.

Systems Engineering is about bringing clarity to "what" needs to be achieved, while empowering discipline specialists to determine "how" it is delivered.

Career

Mario has blended entrepreneurship, engineering, and technical leadership across multiple industries where hardware and software integration is critical to success. Throughout his career, he has proudly led Systems Engineering efforts for mobile robotics solutions serving Porsche AG, Daimler AG and Scania AB. He has served in critical systems and requirements engineering roles at organizations such as EUROPOL and SONY Europe, where he supported digital transformation initiatives and elicitation of stakeholder business needs.

As Principal Systems Engineer at Oceaneering, Mario specialized in delivering complex mobile robotics solutions that demanded high levels of HW/SW integration, further sharpening his ability to bridge business needs and technical solutions with agility and precision.

Expertise

At W2V Eco, Mario leads both the business and technical aspects of client engineering projects and products. With a systematic and pragmatic approach, he translates high-level business needs into purposeful and effective engineering solutions by adhering to the widely accepted INCOSE practices on Systems Engineering technical processes such as system requirements definition, architecture definition, verification and validation. Mario works closely with stakeholders to define, manage, and validate Use Cases, System Functions, Interfaces, Requirements, Testing Protocols (EAT/FAT/SAT), and Certifications, ensuring that every solution meets rigorous safety & industry standards.

Commitment

I believe a purposeful solution starts with a meaningful problem definition. I ensure subject matter experts, both on technical and business side, receive the right context to perform at their highest potential. Systems Engineering is a practice of art. There are many approaches to system design and many interpretations to good design. Despite that, our choice for system design will not determine success. Success comes down to teamwork—and teamwork is all about people.

I look forward to helping you discover the full context of your business needs and supporting you in your technical journey by resolving complexity and enhancing traceability from concept to commissioning.

Let's build something extraordinary—together.
